Leadership

Ingolv T. Urnes

Ingolv T. Urnes

Founder & Director

There are two aspects of psHEALTH of which I am incredibly proud; our innovative software solutions and our people. Through our powerful, customised software solutions we are working hard to make healthcare better and more efficient. Our position as a leader in this field is the result of a dedicated and creative team that never give up.

I’m a Norwegian who studied in Switzerland and then went on to work at Goldman Sachs in London, Frankfurt and New York.  However,  after a decade in finance I wanted to do something more meaningful.  I grew up in a family of doctors where the challenges of healthcare and healthcare provision were discussed at every opportunity.  The healthcare sector therefore had a natural appeal for me and in 2002 I started my first health tech business, Active Health Partners.  My experience here helped me refine the two  principles on which I went on to found psHEALTH in 2008; we want to be known for our innovative software solutions and for cultivating an exciting environment in which our people can grow and learn.

Operations Director

I’ve been at psHEALTH since 2013 as Operations Director; it has been exciting to be part of a fast growing business delivering world class software solutions to our customers. Every day I enjoy being part of a creative team that is focused on working with our customers to design and deliver solutions that give them tangible value. Another important part of my job, and one of which I am very passionate, is guiding the professional development of the team, giving them opportunities to enhance and extend the breadth and depth of their skills. Prior to psHEALTH, I worked at Accenture and Ernst & Young shaping and delivering large scale transformations for FTSE 100 companies across industries such as healthcare, telecoms and utilities. I’ve worked in 20 countries with roles in project management, solution architecture, application development and service management for both packaged and customised solutions. I graduated from King’s College London with a Masters in Computer Science.

From the wilds of Northumberland, I went on to study Computer Science at Durham University before succumbing to the idea that I would have to head south. Before starting with psHEALTH I worked in education assessment for a couple of years, gaining a good understanding of the sector and learning a lot of transferable skills that I still use today. I love working closely with our clients and partners to develop the best solutions for them. Working for psHEALTH really does seem unique in many ways, from very early on you are put in a position of real responsibility, it challenges you but in turn accelerates your personal development. Outside of work I really enjoy baking and experimenting with various arts and crafts.

I’m Arpit, Head of Implementations and Operations at psHEALTH.  I was lucky to join psHEALTH almost 7 years ago when we were a small start-up. Working here has been an excellent learning experience, and it’s been great to witness the company grow so rapidly.  Every day is exciting, and I’m proud to be part of such a creative and high spirited team.  Before joining psHEALTH I completed a Master’s degree at King’s College London in Advanced Computing.  In my free time I enjoy learning about new technologies and exploring how we can use IT innovations to the benefit of our customers.  My weekends are often spent playing a variety of sports including squash, football, cricket and abseiling.

I’m Krassi, I came to the UK from Bulgaria in 2010 where I worked as a web developer for several years.  After graduating from King’s College, London in 2011, I wanted a new challenge and discovered psHEALTH.  For me, psHEALTH provided the perfect balance of a challenging work environment and the opportunity to join a talented developer team; an opportunity I gladly accepted.  During my time here I have enhanced and extended my technical skillset enabling me to be an integral part of a team that delivers complex solutions to the healthcare market. I’ve learned not only how to be a better technical developer, but also a much better team mate and coach for the psHEALTH team, important skills in my current role as Head of Engineering. When I am not working, I like to read books, play chess & table tennis.

Nicola Skilling

I’ve always been passionate about improving healthcare access and delivery, both in terms of efficiency and quality. In 2006 I graduated as a Physiotherapist and began working within the rehabilitation and case management arena, delivering rehabilitation programmes. From there I progressed to the position of Clinical Governance Manager for a large case management company, which allowed me to harness my passion for healthcare improvement and governance. Before starting my role here, I worked extensively alongside psHEALTH as a customer, and it was through this experience that I realised we shared many of the same values and ambitions. As Head of Account Management I am committed to ensuring that customers achieve the maximum potential from their psHEALTH solution and I take great satisfaction from this. In my spare time, having been born and bred in Derbyshire, I enjoy long walks in the countryside, and spending quality, relaxing time with friends and family.

From London, I studied Mathematics at Imperial College. After graduating I rather fell into banking and from there found my way into IT as a business analyst. The role appealed to me as an opportunity to use IT to improve outcomes and efficiency for users. After fourteen years in banking, fulfilling a variety of roles, I decided I was ready for a change. My goal was to find a more meaningful and interesting role with tangible outcomes. I focussed my search on healthcare, a sector that I had spent several years volunteering in already. My role at psHEALTH ticks all the boxes and also gives me the opportunity to work within a supportive, driven and energetic team. I still continue my volunteering outside of work and when I’m not focussed on healthcare I’m passionate about astronomy, and regularly volunteer at the Science Museum.

Helen Wright

Finance Director

Helen Wright

Finance Director

I’m Helen and I look after finance at psHEALTH. I came to psHEALTH from a background in financial control and management consultancy. That in turn now seems a long way from my languages degree at Cambridge. psHEALTH has ambitious growth plans and we therefore have an extensive and full finance agenda which keeps my team busy and very much at the sharp end of the business. It’s an impressive, challenging and enjoyable environment in which to work where everyone has a total commitment and passion to design and build the best solutions for our clients. Outside the office? I’m a big fan of the water as an ex rower now keen sailor. I run when I can, but nowadays am equally happy on the sidelines, cheering on the kids.

I provide strategic input to the psHEALTH board in my capacity as Non-Executive Director and Co-Founder of psHEALTH. I have been involved in the fields of health and technology for a large part of my career and am passionate about solving business challenges, improving health and driving efficiency. I have founded several businesses, start-ups and within large corporates, and most recently via Daeschner Consulting work with a variety of health and technology companies driving strategy, growth and innovation. Prior to this I worked for over 10 years in London, Hong Kong and Chicago within a number of financial service and consulting firms serving some of the world’s leading global organisations.

I’m from North West London and studied Computer Science at Royal Holloway. I started programming when I was 16, learning to reverse engineer and create games on embedded devices like the Sony PSP. I joined psHEALTH after graduating and it’s been a fantastic learning experience. The problems we work on are complex and the challenge is to solve them elegantly. I have been given the chance to take on a lot of responsibility, which in turn speeds up the pace at which I learn and allows me to gain knowledge in a variety of disciplines. Our team is great and full of smart people; everyone is willing to help you learn. I enjoy training for powerlifting and have been doing so for about a year and a half; I intend to compete this year and psHEALTH has offered to sponsor me. I also like to travel, I regularly go to Hong Kong to visit family; I love the differences in the culture and food. I definitely plan to travel more and explore other parts of the world.

I’m originally from Jönköping in Sweden. I studied at Lund University, in the faculty of Engineering, where I studied for a Bachelor’s degree in Technology. Beyond that, I have completed a number of high level courses, specifically in advanced computer science and mathematics. Before starting at psHEALTH I used to run my own company, where I sold customised high-end computers. I have also been involved in a major quant project, where I built stock robots which traded on the Swedish stock exchange. Unlike elsewhere, developers at psHEALTH play a role in the whole process, designing solutions and working closely with clients. The team at psHEALTH are very helpful and extremely friendly, meaning you quickly get up to speed.

‘I’m Emma.  I did a history degree at Cambridge University, which I loved but has had no relevance to my career – I’ve worked in public relations, human resources and for the past 15 or so years with Ingolv as a PA/Administrator.  My role is to ensure his worklife runs smoothly, and to help out any other members of the team as and when they need it.  This encompasses everything from making appointments, to assisting with recruitment, editing articles and organising parties.  The team’s a great bunch, which makes work fun and rewarding. In my time off, I enjoy travelling, gardening and walking with my dogs through the beautiful Kent Countryside.

I’m Mitch, I come from a small town in the South West of England called Somerton, deep in the countryside. Moving from a school with five people in my year to a university in the heart of London was incredible. After completing my Degree in Computer Science and Robotics staying to work in London was the goal. Finding myself at psHEALTH has been a pleasure, with such a close knit group of people you get the opportunity to learn from every aspect of the business. The exposure to such a wide range of areas by such a diverse and friendly team make every day an excitement. While not at work I am fascinated by different kinds of music and anything with two wheels, as a drummer and a keen motorcyclist.

I grew up in Chelmsford, Essex. I studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, and chose to do Pharmacology in my final year. At university, I enjoyed the clinical side of science, completing a research project on asthma in the university department at Addenbrooke’s hospital. After graduating I knew that I wanted a role in a healthcare-related field and, before joining psHEALTH, I completed an internship in healthcare consulting. The growing role of technology in healthcare is one of the most exciting aspects of the field for me, and while IT is a new challenge it’s one I’m relishing. I enjoy travelling and spent two months in Peru before starting university. I’m also a qualified trampoline coach and judge and still compete occasionally.

I grew up in Xi’an China. After completing a master’s degree in computer science at Trinity College Dublin in 2017, I took a job in Belfast where I worked on a system integration project for PSNI. In 2013 I moved to London to join a SaaS company based in Elstree as a customer developer. Having accomplished what I set out to achieve I began to look for a new challenge. In particular I was keen to find a Greenfield project that would enable me to have greater responsibility over the design and development of my work, and that is exactly what psHEALTH offered. Working at psHEALTH is exciting, there’s real opportunity to learn new technologies, and you’re part of a talented team. In my spare time I enjoy reading, travelling and attending football matches.

I’ve continuously studied part-time alongside my career and have a BA in Business Studies from The Open University. I was attracted to psHEALTH by the unique combination offered; a challenging environment similar to that of a maths degree and, the satisfaction of working in a healthcare related industry. The fact that the office has a friendly atmosphere, with plenty of social activities going on is definitely a bonus. In my spare time, I enjoy going on camping trips and I also play the veena and piano.

Originally from Oxfordshire, I went on to study physics at the University of Leeds before starting at psHEALTH soon after my graduation. During my degree I focused my studies on computing, and in my final year investigated how Machine Learning could be applied to improve computer simulations of biomolecules used in medical research. I found the project fascinating, which inspired me to pursue a career where I could combine computing with a similarly worthwhile goal.  psHEALTH provided a perfect opportunity to do exactly that for the healthcare industry. Since joining, I have enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and fast-paced, hard working environment. In my spare time I enjoy cycling and love to travel.  In June 2017, I led a team of cyclists on a 700 mile charity ride from Leeds to Prague.

Hi, I’m Oliver and I was born and raised in London, not too far from our Waterloo offices.  I did not take the most direct route to my role as an analyst at psHEALTH; studying History at the University of Lancaster and then working in retail management and customer service positions. However, I have always been fascinated by IT and the seemingly endless possibilities that it holds, and I knew that it was a skill I wanted to master.  My love of creative and technical problem solving makes my job at psHEALTH incredibly interesting and I also get to do it as part of a fantastic team.  When I’m not at work, or trying to explain to friends and family what my work actually involves, I love going for bike rides and long walks with my dog, Chase.

That’s definitely the feeling I get working at psHEALTH and seeing how our clients interact with our products. Having worked in healthcare for over six years, I know exactly how challenging it can be to deliver the best care, keep on top of tons of paperwork and meet KPIs all at the same time. I always felt that there must be a way for healthcare services to be delivered in a much more efficient way than with large spreadsheets and numerous, stand-alone software applications. This is exactly what I saw when I started working at psHEALTH. The whole company is about working with and helping our clients to embrace new technologies and offer the best solution for their clients and patients. At psHEALTH, like technology, we never stop. We constantly look to improve user experience and this makes psHEALTH a fantastic place to work when striving, for both, personal and professional excellence.
